Aloy is invited to partake in the Tenakth Arena after saving the Kulrut (once she finds the machine parts to fix a ballista thingy, of course). The Arena is basically a battle minigame where you have to pwn sets of machines within the time limits. The last fight in each set is kinda like a boss where the game gives you a preset gear loadout to use.

The Amateur one was pretty easy and the one that gave me this trophy! Aloy vs Viper-bot Round 2 was the final fight.

Trophy 37: All Acquisition Machines Killed

Official Description: Killed at least one of every type of Acquisition machine.

Still in the Arena, I encountered my very first Tideripper as the boss of the Intermediate set. These things look like giant robotic Lapras and hit like firetrucks (Get it? They shoot water… ha). I failed to down it in time on the first try, but at least it gave me the trophy for killing all types of acquisition bots.

I did go on to finish all the Arena sets without too much trouble. The very last fight was a pain (A Thunderjaw and Scorcher duo who barely gave Aloy 2 seconds to aim anything). I shamelessly dropped the difficulty down to Story for that one. Just wasn’t in the mood to die a million times.

Anyway, my reward for clearing everything was 3 Legendary weapons, 3 Legendary armor sets, and 4 Legendary overpowered Coils (each gave a chance to instantly trigger different elemental effects). Sweet.

Trophy 38: 10 Types of Machine Overridden

While wandering aimlessly around the desert (I was stalling to get to the good story parts), I fought a pair of Ravagers and managed to convince one to do my bidding for a bit. That was my 10th machine override!

Trophy 39: Recovered POSEIDON

Official Description: Drained Las Vegas and recovered POSEIDON.

POSEIDON recovery starts off with Aloy arriving at a tower in the middle of the desert (odd place for an oceanic related subordinate function to hideout, eh?). Water is inexplicably flowing out of the tower making it look like a cool fountain. Inside, Aloy finds three Oseram delvers (and one of them is slightly drowned).

Morlund, the almost drowned ringleader of the group, was trying to fulfill his family destiny by recovering Old World orb thingys (they call them Embers) from an ancient underground city his grandfather found (viva Las Vegas!). The city is encased in a dome buried under the sands. Awesome!!

Aloy and Morlund come up with a Diving Mask invention. Aloy bravely tests the device by diving down into the city to check things out. Eventually, she is able to drain the mysterious city by activating two Pump nodes and flipping the Emergency Purge switch.

Morlund and Co. climb down to see Aloy, but unfortunately an angry Tideripper shows up. The brave Nora spear-maiden easily pwns it, and the Oseram go about their Ember gathering business while Aloy retrieves POSEIDON.

Picking up POSEIDON causes the city to reset to its neon Las Vegas theme, showing lots of amazing colourful holograms inside and above the dome. Morlund and Co. decide to stick around and turn the area into a tourist attraction.
