Every open world game with a mount system is almost required to have a racing minigame. It’s written in the God of All-Games’ 1,337 Commandments or something… probably! Anyway, Gauntlet Runs operated by a group of thrill-seeking Tenakth are that in Horizon Forbidden West.
These were actually quite fun! You get to shoot your fellow racers with arrows and bash them away with your spear. The 2nd run I beat was the coastal track. I ended up beating all 4 tracks but there was no trophy for all of them.
The last track took place under the lively Las Vegas holograms in the middle of the desert. It took a few tries but I got it eventually. The reward was seeing who the masked pro-racer guy was. Turns out he was Aloy’s friend Nil the bloodthirsty Carja bandit pwner from Zero Dawn.
Trophy 42: Defeated the Enduring
Official Description: Defeated the Tenakth melee master known as the Enduring.

I was so freaking shocked when I saw that the best fighter in all of the Forbidden West was a sarcastic old woman who loves living alone in the woods. OMG, I love her! I aspire to be just like her when I’m an old lady.
Anyway, after she woke up, she put up quite an intense melee fight! Aloy gets a nice spear upgrade as a reward. Yay!
Trophy 43: Rode All Regular Mounts
Official Description: Rode a Charger, Bristleback, and Clawstrider.

It was a requirement to tame a Clawstrinder and use it to kill other bots during a Hunting Ground challenge. I had no idea the aggressive little fella would also unlock a trophy for me! Clawstriders are pretty slow speed wise, but definitely fight good.
Trophy 44: Obtained 3 Stripes at All Hunting Grounds
Official Description: Earned at least a Quarter Stripe mark in all three trials at all Hunting Grounds.

The last Hunting Ground challenge I did (where this popped) was probably the 2nd most painful to me. I needed to detach a cannon from a mammoth-bot and use it to kill 3 bots within the time limit. Unfortunately, the mammoth-bot likes to knock you away from the cannon a lot. When I remembered Smoke Bombs were a thing I came within 1 second of the full mark time on my successful run. Phew!

I remember when I thought Thuderjaws were the most brutal bots to face in a Horizon game. The Slaughterspine I ran into on a random mountain certainly begs to differ! These things shoot plasma and move so fast. I got murdered on my first try and dropped the difficulty down to Story to take it out. I just wanted to innocently explore, dammit. The vicious bot-beast was the last type of Combat machine I needed to kill too.
