While exploring the Catacombs, I came across yet another Titanite Demon mini-boss. Killing it revealed an open stone coffin for my undead to crawl into. Uh, sure. Why not?
After a few seconds of chilling, the coffin slid shut, and I found myself in the lair of Gravelord Nito in the Tomb of Giants. He’s one of the Lord bosses you need to kill to fill the Lordvessel, but not right now.
Visiting him early like this lets you join his very missable covenant. I’ll have to wait until NG+ to offer him enough Eyes of Death to level the covenant enough to get one of the Miracles I need.
Trophy 17: Rite of Kindling

Pinwheel dropped the Rite of Kindling needed for this trophy. I guess I can make bonfires even better when in human form now.
Trophy 18: Defeat Gravelord Nito

It took me a few tries to destroy this walking bone pile jerk, but I got it! I needed to get acquainted with the timing on his screaming toxic blade ground attack, and then dispatch his skeleton army with my Divine Claymore so he couldn’t resurrect them. It was just a matter of toasting him with my pyromancy spells to finish him off. Two more Lords to go!

All the way back to Anor Londo, the Darkmoon Seance Ring I found in the Catacombs revealed a hidden path behind a statue. Kneeling before Gwyndolin’s voice at a fog gate gave me the ability to join this covenant. I had farmed 10 Souvenirs of Reprisal from the Harpies in painted land in advance. Offering those ranked me up in the covenant enough to get a special Miracle.
Trophy 20: Defeat the Dark Sun Gwyndolin
Official Description: Defeat Dark Sun Gwyndolin, the Darkmoon God.

This optional boss fight is more of race, to be honest. Gwyndolin will constantly teleport down an infinitely long hallway. The goal is rush at him while dodging things, and then swing at him as much as you can before he teleports away again. It took me three tries. Lighter armor was the key for me.
