Behind boss fiery-spider-witch-lady’s lair was a lever to pull, which rung another bell. This triggered a cutscene where a hulking monster dude woke up and pulled a bloody chain to open a gate.

Trophy 7: Covenant: Chaos Servant

Below the bell lever was a lovely little area with two friendly monstrosities: An egg corpse monster greeter (Eingyi), and Quelaag’s also-a-spider-lady sister. She could only say “….?” and seemed fused to the wall, but we shared an unspoken glow-y moment where I joined the Chaos Servant covenant for this trophy.

Trophy 8: Reach Anor Londo

Killing the Iron Golem made a weird ring of light appear. Interacting with said light made a trio of bat-gargoyle things fly down and swoop my undead off to a new area, Anor Londo. It’s very pretty, but certainly very deadly. The lovely architecture includes a movable bridge mechanism, climbing the rafters while dodging Paint Guardian daggers, and shout-out to the narrow-roof-run part where two Silver Knight archers relentlessly try to knock you off with arrows. Fun!!

With Smough and Super Orny finally pwned, I was able to travel up to the second floor of the castle and met with some eerily sweet giant lady named Gwynevere. She told my bowing undead that she’s the daughter of Lord Gwyn and gave me the Lordvessel. That handy item let me warp to different bonfires which felt like the best ability ever.
